Atletico Madrid
Jan Oblak: 6/10
The Slovenian had almost nothing to do in the game, except one save that he made from a shot that Xhaka took from outside the box.
Thomas Partey: 7/10
He charged to and fro the right flank, allowing Koke to drift towards the central midfield and control the play. Partey saw a lot of the ball as well, keeping the likes of Monreal and Welbeck in check.
Jose Gimenez: 8/10
The central defender combined well with Godin, ensuring that Arsenal were cramped for space through the middle and thus, were forced to go wide with their attack. He also put in a couple of successful tackles in his box.
Diego Godin: 8.5/10
He was always at the right place while defending. The defender made some crucial clearances in the box and ensured that the Arsenal attack stayed at bay throughout the game. His clearance off an Ozil ball was imperative in his side keeping a clean sheet on the day.
Lucas Hernandez: 7/10
The left-back was able to pressurize Bellerin into giving the ball away more often than not, while also keeping a tab on Lacazette, who was drifting out to the right to see more of the ball.
Koke: 7/10
He worked hard on the day and was the liaison between the defensive and attacking force of his team. He also had two shots in the game and combined well with Partey to strengthen the right flank for the hosts.
Gabi: 7/10
Gabi was his usual self, disrupting the Arsenal attack at will, not allowing them to play their free-flowing football. He crowded the midfield and created problems for the likes of Wilshere and Ramsey.
Saul Niguez: 7/10
The midfielder was precise with his passing and put in three successful tackles on the day. He was booked in the 71st minute of the game.
Vitolo: 7/10
He retained his position through most of the match and protected the likes of Hernandez and Godin with his disciplined performance.
Antoine Griezmann: 9/10
Undoubtedly, the Man of the Match of the entire tie. Scored the crucial away goal at the Emirates and assisted the one at home, finding Costa with a pinpoint pass in the Arsenal half.
Diego Costa: 8/10
The former Chelsea striker tormented Arsenal with his thumping attack and power, creating numerous problems for them through his sheer presence on the field. The only goal of the night came off a strong finish from his right foot.
