Madrid, July 7 (IANS) Atletico Madrid football club on Thursday carried out its first training in preparation for the new season under the command of Argentine coach Diego Simeone.
This is the first training for Atletico Madrid in 38 days since it lost the Champions League final against Real Madrid in the Italian city of Milan, reports Efe.
Filipe Luis, Jan Oblak, Miguel Angel Moya, Stefan Savic, Lucas Hernandez, Saul Ñiguez, Gabi Fernandez, Tiago Mendes and Fernando Torres took part, among others, in Thursday's workouts.
The rest of the team is expected to join in for pre-season preparations throughout this month.

The Rojiblancos are scheduled for two training sessions on Friday before setting up camp at Segovia, where Simeone will plan the strategy for the 2016-17 season.
