Bacary Sagna is adamant he will not leave Arsenal – and states he wants to prove he is worth a new deal.
French international Sagna, 30, is into the final year of his contract and has had offers from Paris Saint Germain, Monaco and the Middle East. Arsenal have offered an one-year contract extension but the Arsenal full-back believes he is worth longer than a 12 month extension and would be happy to leave on a free transfer next season.
But Sagna, one of the best right backs in the English Premier League, insists that he is committed to Arsenal.
Sagna said: “I enjoy playing for Arsenal. I love my team, I give 100 per cent for the team and I always give my best. I’m still here.
“Many people were talking about me going back to France but I’m still here and I’m looking forward to a big season with Arsenal.
“Last year was difficult. I only had one year left and people were looking at that and maybe thinking I would leave.”
Sagna, who is on the Asia tour for pre-season friendlies, say he can’t wait for the season to start and he is looking forward to meeting his team-mates after a long injury lay-off.
He also added that with couple of signings Arsenal can challenge for the title.
