Yemen take on Bahrain at the 26th Arabian Gulf Cup on Friday in what's a dead rubber for them with progression hopes already over.
With losses in both group fixtures, Yemen are rock-bottom of Group B without a single point and cannot finish inside the top-two even if they win this match.
Noureddine Ould Ali's side lost 1-0 to Iraq in their opening game, with Ayman Hussein netting the only goal of the game in the 64th minute. On matchday two, they were on course to pull off a big upset, leading 2-0 against Saudi Arabia after 27 minutes, but conceded thrice to bow out of the competition.
It continued their trend of getting eliminated in the group stage, having also met with the same fate in their previous 11 appearances.
As for Bahrain, their place in the next round is confirmed after winning their second straight cup game. The Pearl Divers overcame Iraq 2-0 on matchday two, courtesy of a brace from Ali Madan. They had also overcome Saudi Arabia 3-2 in their first game, making it six points from a possible six.
Essentially, the result of this game will have no impact on either side's fates.

There's nothing much at stake here besides pride, but nonetheless expect the Reds to try and win this one to mark a perfect ending to their group stage. Yemen showed some promise in their last game but slipped up big time, which exposed their frailties once again.
