Bale on Real Madrid situation and ignoring criticism
Gareth Bale said on Thursday that his situation at Real Madrid is "not ideal", but admitted he is happy with how his season has begun at the Spanish La Liga giants.

Former Tottenham Hotspur player Bale was persistently linked with a move away from the Santiago Bernabeu - either back to the English Premier League or to China - during the transfer window.

Relations between the Wales international and Real head coach Zinedine Zidane have become particularly strained in recent months.

Despite this, Bale has started all three of Real's La Liga matches and scored two goals in Sunday's 2-2 draw at Villarreal, although he was also sent off in that game.

The 30-year-old joked about his nickname 'the golfer', given to him by Real team-mate Thibaut Courtois - and he referred to it as a "great one" which was taken out of context.
