The Ballon d'Or ceremony is reaching its climax and France Football and L'Equipe are announcing the top 10 players now. There have already been some surprising inclusions in the rankings so far.
Karim Benzema has been ranked 25th ahead of the likes of Coutinho, Mertens and Jan Oblak. However, what is most surprising is the fact that Toni Kroos, who was arguably the best midfielder in world football last year was ranked as low as 17.

Premier League boys Harry Kane and N'golo Kante make it in very respectable positions while Bayern Munich sensation Robert Lewandowski is 9th. Mbappe has been ranked ahead of Cavani, but below the world's most expensive player and his club team-mate, Neymar.
Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos is ranked 6th! Which means midfield maestro Luka Modric makes it to the top5. The players left now are Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, Neymar, Buffon and Modric.
