#1 Luka Modric (Real Madrid)
The Croatia and Los Blancos midfielder is of course the player who is most likely to take home the coveted prize.
The midfielder has remained the ultimate favourite for the award for months, with several fans and players tipping him to be the player to break the decade long Messi and Ronaldo duopoly.
Modric won the Champions League title alongside Ronaldo and Varane in May, and was also the driving force in the Croatia squad that reached the FIFA World Cup finals for the first time in their history.
Having already won the UEFA Best Player of the Year Award as well as The Best FIFA Men's Player Award earlier this year, the Croatian is very much ahead in the race for the Ballon d'Or.
