Manchester United v Manchester City - Premier League
At the start of the season, reigning champions Manchester City were dealt a huge blow when their star midfielder Kevin de Bruyne was sidelined with injury. Up stepped Bernardo Silva and began running the show for his team while the Belgian recovered. Pretty soon, it was clear why Guardiola had bought the Portuguese; Bernardo Silva was so good that City never really missed de Bruyne at all.

With foot work and close control similar to David Silva, Bernardo weaved his magic for City all season. He was arguably the best midfielder in the Premier League, finishing the season with 13 goals and eight assists from 49 games in all competitions. He won the Premier League, the FA Cup and the Carabao Cup with City; and also won the UEFA Nations League with Portugal where he was adjudged the Player of the Tournament, ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo.
Manchester City were blessed to have him in their ranks as they oversaw a relentless pursuit from Liverpool, and for all of the above, Bernardo Silva sits on third place among the top contenders for the Ballon d'Or from the Premier League.

Inspired by Diego Maradona, Deepungsu played as an attacking midfielder for his local club at subdivision level in his initial years and scored an important goal or two. However, his all-time favorite footballer is Lionel Messi, and evidently, he feels Argentina's glory in 2022 is his favorite FIFA World Cup moment for fulfilling his long-standing dream. He is also an ardent East Bengal fan.
Deepungsu has been a Manchester United supporter since the year 2000. Unsurprisingly, his favorite manager is Sir Alex Ferguson and the Scotsman helped him get through some of the toughest days of his life. Like the fiery Scot, Deepungsu also leaves no stone unturned when it comes to accuracy in articles and only relies on credible sources.
Despite believing in Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland to create an iconic rivalry, Deepungsu reckons no one can match the longevity of Messi and Ronaldo. He spends his leisure time writing about life on his blog, reading books, and playing the guitar.
