Messi grabbed his second hat-trick of the season

Messi started the week by putting a resilient Atletico Madrid to the sword with a well-taken goal in a tense encounter and a day later, he rewrote the record books by becoming the first man in history to win six Ballon d'Ors.

An eventful week was capped off with the Argentine skipper downing Real Malloca with a well-taken hat-trick.

It took him to 12 goals and five assists from just 10 matches in the season and after starting his campaign on the sidelines, it is now back to business for the Rosario native and he currently tops the scorers' chart in Spain and looks on course for yet another Golden Boot triumph.
