Barcelona beat Malaysia XI 3-1 in their final preseason friendly. Malaysia played some pretty good football and went on to score the first goal.
After two curling efforts from Andres Iniesta and Neymar, which almost found the back of the net, it was Cesc Fabregas who scored the first goal in the 33rd minute with a thumping header, courtesy of a Jordi Alba cross.
It didn’t take long for Malaysia to equalize. Mohammed Amri Yahya found the equalizer in the 40th minute after drilling the ball past Victor Valdes.
Barcelona’s defence was caught napping and this only increases the pressure to sign a good defender.
Barcelona didn’t waste time and started attacking right after the goal. Neymar restored their lead two minutes later, after skillfully slotting in a low cross from Fabregas into the back of the net.
The second half saw many close chances for Barcelona, but it was Gerard Pique who scored the third and final goal of the match in the 75th minute.
Barcelona 3 (Fabregas 33, Neymar 42, Pique 75) beat Malaysia XI 1 (Amri Yahya 40)
