What's the news?
More bad news for Barcelona fans, with Uruguay international, Luis Suarez, set to miss the Catalonian side's last 3 matches, including the Copa del Rey final, after undergoing surgery on his right knee.
In case you didn't know
Luis Suarez previously had issues with his right knee earlier in the season during the Champions League group phase, when a stem cell treatment for his right knee kept him out of action for a couple of weeks.
The heart of the matter
Barcelona has been handed a huge injury blow following their Champions League exit to Liverpool in midweek, with Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez set to miss 4-6 weeks after undergoing arthroscopic surgery for a medial meniscus injury in his right knee.
The surgery will keep the striker out of Barcelona's remaining league matches against Eibar and Getafe, as well as the Copa del Ray final against Valencia to be played on 25 May at the Benito Villamarín Stadium.
Luis Suarez has been in great form again this season - scoring 25 goals, with 21 of them coming in LaLiga, with 3 in the Copa del Rey and 1 in the Champions League. The Uruguayan is the second leading goal scorer for the Catalonian giants, with Lionel Messi leading the scoring charts yet again.
What's next?
With Suarez ruled out for the season, the Uruguayan will need to sweat it out to get back to match fitness, with Copa America set to start next month on 14 June in Brazil.
Oscar Tabarez and his men will need their influential captain after being drawn in the same group as holders Chile, Ecuador, and guests Japan.
La Celeste will begin their campaign against Ecuador on 16 June.
