Barcelona sign first inside the shirt sponsorship deal with Intel

Barcelona have become the first football club to sign a shirt sponsorship deal with technology giants Intel which will see the logo placed on the inside of the players shirt.

The first of its kind deal will see the computer chip firm become the Catalan club’s official technology partner.

The partnership will also see Intel produce groundbreaking technology for club’s famed youth academy La Masia. The firm will also work with the club to improve training and performances through data analysis.

‘It is a huge satisfaction for FC Barcelona to be able to join forces and share the values of innovation and teamwork with a company of such worldwide prestige as Intel,’ said [Sandro] Rosell.

‘We are both trendsetters in our fields, and I am convinced the collaboration we are starting today will be very important. It will mean much more than a financial sponsorship.’
