Unai Emery to look inwards before signing Danny Welbeck's replacement
Arsenal were struck a blow when Danny Welbeck suffered a very serious injury during the Gunners' clash against Sporting Lisbon in the UEFA Europa League. With reports now claiming that Welbeck could go on to miss the entire season, Unai Emery will be forced to consider his options.
Despite fans calling for the purchase of a replacement, manager Unai Emery seems inclined to look inwards first, and offer the likes of Eddie Nketiah an opportunity before investing in a replacement.
According to reports from Metro, Emery recently spoke about the matter and said
"The first [choice] is to look inside, and we have one striker also who is working well with the under-23s and is improving also, Eddie Nketiah, and he could have chances. But I think it’s early for speaking about the possibility [of signings] in January."
