Barcelona want Munir out in January
It is very evident that there are some differences between the Barcelona board and youngster Munir El Haddadi after the Morocco-born Spanish international refused to sign a new deal with the club. Yesterday, there were reports that Munir has been frozen out of his Barcelona contract. Now, it has been revealed that the club want the forward to leave the club in the ongoing January transfer window.
ESPN are reporting that Barca manager Ernesto Valverde said that it will be better for the club if he leaves in the ongoing window. "It seems Munir has taken a decision and, evidently, the club have also made a decision. We want a solution as soon as possible. If that can be this month, even better," said Valverde.
Bayern Munich enter the race to sign Barca target
Barcelona are set to face some stiff competition from Bayern Munich in the race to sign PSG midfielder Adrien Rabiot. The LaLiga giants were the front-runners to sign the midfielder when his contract expires but it looks like Bayern Munich have entered the negotiations to sign the French international.
According to reports in Radio Montecarlo (via express.co.uk), Bayern Munich have entered negotiations for Rabiot and are prepared to pay a fee to sign him this window. Bayern sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic is said to have phoned PSG officials to try and negotiate a deal.
Rabiot refused to sign a new deal with the Ligue 1 side and was on his way out for free, something that didn't go well with the club. With Bayern willing to pay some money, PSG will look to get some cash and offload the midfielder to the Bundesliga leaders.
Ajax starlet agrees terms with FC Barcelona
It looks like Barcelona have eventually succeeded in the pursuit of their long-term target Frenkie de Jong as the Dutch midfielder has reportedly agreed terms with the club. Reports in Mundo Deportivo (via AS) suggest that the Ajax star has given his thumbs up to the LaLiga giants as the front page headline of the Catalan daily read "Yes to Barca".
It was earlier said that the 21-year-old has agreed financial terms with Barcelona and has chosen the LaLiga champions over PSG, who were also vying for his signature.
Now, it looks like an agreement between the two clubs is in place and the Catalans are willing to pay €75 million which the Ajax sporting director Marc Overmars has set on the player.
