Goretzka could move to Barcelona
The 22-year old Schalke midfielder is one of the hottest midfielders in world football with his contract set to expire next summer. Goretzka was rumoured to have agreed terms to join Bayern Munich on a free next summer but the news has received no confirmation ever since.
Thus, clubs across Europe are vying for the German's signature with Express reporting that both Manchester United and Arsenal are interested in him. However, German newspaper, Bild, mentions that Goretzka is not interested to move to England and prefers either Bayern Munich or Barcelona.
The box-to-box midfielder could add steel, creativity and goals in midfield and would be a younger replacement for both Paulinho and Ivan Rakitic. However, it remains to be seen whether the Catalans will actually make a move for him in January or next summer.
Iniesta to get a two-year deal with clauses
The long-standing question of whether Iniesta will stay on at Barcelona is looking closer to be resolved as Marca reports that the La Masia graduate will be offered a two-year deal. The deal can supposedly be extended on a yearly basis based on performances on the pitch and dialogue between the club and player.
At 33 years of age, Iniesta's powers are waning and he is slowly becoming a squad player at the club. Thus, a two-year deal offers good value and the Spaniard will be given an option to take up a non-footballing role at Barcelona on retirement.
Further, the report adds that the deal will contain clauses to allow the diminutive midfielder to leave the club to countries outside Europe such as Qatar, China or the United States. Within Europe, Iniesta can reportedly move to his former club Albacete in case of a bid as per the deal, showing the respect commanded by the player at the club
Dani Alves suggests Paulinho is a good signing for his former club
There has been a lot of criticism from all quarters ever since Barcelona signed Paulinho from Chinese club Guangzhou Evergrande, especially after Neymar's departure. However, the Brazilian scored two goals in the past two games as he began to show his worth.
In response to the changing perception, Paulinho's international teammate and former Barcelona right-back Daniel Alves posted on Instagram that the midfielder will turn out to be a bargain.
The 29-year old is eyeing to make it to the World Cup next year and if he continues to perform at this level, then he will automatically get picked for Brazil.
