Barca eye Alvaro Morata and Fernando Llorente as a back-up for Suarez
If reports from Marca (via TalkSport) are to be believed, Barcelona manager Ernesto Valverde has already made his decision to sign at least one striker in the ongoing transfer window. With Paco Alcacer and Munir El Haddadi leaving the club, they don't have any proper back-up to Luis Suarez.
As per the reports, the Catalan giants are reportedly eyeing Tottenham Hotspur's Fernando Llorente and Chelsea's Alvaro Morata, both of whom have struggled to make a mark at their current clubs, Tottenham and Chelsea respectively. While Llorente might be brought in on a permanent basis, Morata is likely to join on loan.
Javier Hernandez could join Barcelona
With Suarez having no proper back-up, Barcelona have shortlisted a lot of options to sign to bolster their attack. Apart from the likes of Morata and Llorente, the LaLiga defending champions are also considering to sign West Ham's Mexican striker Javier Hernandez. With money tight at the Camp Nou, Sport believes that Barca want to bring in Hernandez on loan.
30-year-old Hernandez has already played for clubs like Manchester United, Real Madrid, Bayer Leverkusen etc. and is currently warming the bench for the Hammers. Barca could face competition from clubs like Valencia, Sevilla and Real Betis, who are keen to offer him a deal with his price set at £18 million.
Barca target Frenkie de Jong agrees terms with PSG
One of the most sought after players in Europe, Frenkie de Jong, has agreed terms with PSG. The 21-year-old Ajax midfielder has linked to a lot of top European clubs including Barcelona and Manchester City. Last week, there were reports that the midfielder is set to join the Catalans sooner than later.
However, latest reports (according to AS via Goal.com) suggest that the youngster is apparently set to join Paris Saint-Germain and has reportedly agreed on a deal with the Ligue 1 giants. He has reportedly been offered a contract said to be worth €8 million-per-season, while the fee agreed upon by the two sides is believed to be worth €75 million.
