Barcelona's Christian Tello ready to prove his worth

Barcelona starlet Christian Tello is all set to play his heart out for Barcelona in order to show Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur what they could have got if they signed him, The Express reports.

The striker, who recently signed a new 5-year contract with Barcelona in August, was chased by the two clubs this season. His new agreement that runs till 2018 has a £20 million release clause.

Tello is ready to fight off competition from new signing Neymar and carve out a niche for himself in Barcelona.

“I always wanted to stay at Barca,” the 21-year-old told reporters.

“The coach has confidence in me, I am content there and ready to play a lot of minutes.

“I feel better than in previous years. I knew that Liverpool were interested in me, but I never planned to leave.”

Tello appeared for Barcelona 34 times in all competitions last season.
