Barcelona's four year streak broken by Bayern Munich

With one goal each from Philip Lahm and Mario Mandzukic, Bayern Munich defeated Barcelona last night at a sold-out Allianz Arena in front of 71,137 fans.

The defeat may not have been surprising enough to talk about, but Pep Guardiola’s Bayern Munich emerged out as the team with more possession than Barcelona, something that has happened after four years.

The last time Barcelona lost the possession stat was in May 2008 when they were beaten 4-1 by Real Madrid at the Bernabeu. Barcelona failed to manage even a single shot at goal.
