Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba has revealed that Lionel Messi gave him advice during the FIFA awards ceremony. The 5 time Ballon D' Or winner once again showed his humble side by personally speaking to the youngster.
Pogba was moved by the great man's gesture and said, "He really touched me because he came to me himself".
He was embarrassed that it wasn't him that approached the 28-year-old saying, "I'm the youngest and, out of respect, it should have been me that went to him, but he saw me and he came over."
When asked what the little magician told him he replied, "We talked and he's really a good guy. He gave me some advice... that's all."
Pogba is only 22 years of age but is one of the most sought after players in the world! He is already an established member of both the Juventus as well as the French National team and recently received his highest honor yet by being named in the FIFA World XI alongside the likes of Iniesta, Ronaldo, Neymar and of course, Messi.
The Frenchman was surprised with his inclusion saying, "I didn't think I'd get there so soon but it's what I wanted, It's a motivation for me. I'm not going to get a big head. I've done nothing in football."
Even after being considered one of the best midfielders on the planet Pogba has his feet firmly on the ground and only thinking about how he can improve as a player."I haven't won the Champions League -- I've won the Scudetto but I'm nothing for the moment. "I still have to develop, to learn.", said the 22-year-old.
Pogba has set his sights on the UEFA Champions League and the Euros that will take place in his home country. " I'm going to try and do things that few in the world have done ... try to win the Champions League, try to win the Euros." stated the midfielder. "I don't like resting on my laurels... I always want more", he added.
Juventus back on top of Serie A
Juventus continued their incredible run after beating title rivals Napoli on Sunday, a result which saw the Old Lady reach top spot, toppling their beaten opponents in the process. Pogba and his team are aiming to win a fifth consecutive Scudetto and this encounter was a vital one for the Italian giants.
Juve won it in dramatic fashion, as substitute Zaza scored an 88th-minute winner to give them a 1-0 victory. With only 13 games to play, Juventus only look to be getting stronger and it’s up to the chasing pack to ensure they do not run away with the league once more
