Barclays Premier League has revealed that 2012/13 season was a record in terms of adult and junior supporters buying full season tickets.

“Making football more attractive and more affordable for families is something clubs have worked hard at over the last few years,” said Cathy Long, Head of Supporter Services at the Premier League.

“Premier League football is increasingly a family affair – 29% of fans attend with children, and the clubs are doing a better job in making football more accessible to them. Back in 2009 76% of parents thought clubs catered well for their need, but that had increased to 87% last season,” she added.

The total adult season ticket sales for last season reached a whopping 476,776, beating the previous best of 476,267 in 2007/08. The junior season tickets also showed an improvement with 58,546 sold during the campaign.

The rise is believed to be as a direct result of the new fan friendly measures adopted by various clubs, most notably Arsenal, Everton and Newcastle United.
