Barnsley forced to wear Crystal Palace away kit!

(Picture courtesy : @ItsaGoal_ on Twitter)It was a scene reminiscent of Sunday league football in the second tier of English Football as Barnsley had to to go through the ignominy of wear their opponent’s away kit since their own clashed with the home side Crystal Palace.

Referee Kevin Stroud decided Barnsley’s regular kit was too similar to Crystal Palace, so Barnsley were forced to don Palace’s away kit. Barnsley’s player name sand numbers were put on this new kit in time for the kick-off.

The match ended 0-0 which effectively ruled out Crystal Palace’s chances of getting a direct promotion spot. They will now have to content with the play-offs.
