Germany midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger has been ruled out from the upcoming friendly football matches against England and Italy, due to a ligament tear in his right knee.
According to the German Football Association website, the diagnosis was confirmed following an MRI scan on Wednesday, while treatment will be carried out by the medical team at Schweinsteiger's club, Manchester United, in coordination with the German national team's doctors, reports Efe.
He was injured following a challenge at the end of training on Tuesday afternoon.
Schweinsteiger only returned on 10 March from a knee injury that had ruled him out since January 9, and there is a chance that he could be out for the rest of the current season.
