#3 Manuel Neuer saves Bayern Munich the blushes
Manuel Neuer did his sweeper-keeper credentials no harm with a phenomenal display against Werder Bremen, as he made several key stops and saves to keep Bayern Munich in the game.
In the first half when the match was still goalless, Neuer pulled off a superb double save, blocking Rashica right on the line before denying Mohwald on the rebound.
The World Cup winner showed his class throught out the game, stopping Sargent from close range late on to prevent him from grabbing a late winner for the visitors.
Sharp, vigilant, and strong, Neuer also rushed off his line on a couple of occasions to clear the ball like he always does. The German turned in a match-salvaging performance for Bayern Munich, who were exposed horribly at the back.
#4 Josh Sargent goes from hero to villain
Josh Sargent, a highly-rated American youngster plying his trade in the German top flight, had a great match for the visitors and was a constant thorn in Bayern Munich's flesh with his pace, dribbling skills and ball control.
He also set up Eggestein's opening goal by expertly getting in behind the Bayern defence.
However, what tainted Sargent's performance on the night were his two late misses that could've potentially sealed an unlikely win for his side.
The 20-year-old took too much time on the ball on the first occasion and fired straight at Neuer on the second. He had done very well in the build-up to both opportunities, pulling off some eye-catching step-overs to evade his markers but lacked confidence in the big moments.
#5 Jamal Musiala makes a confident start for Bayern Munich
The biggest talking point prior to the game's kick-off was Jamal Musiala's inclusion in the Bayern Munich XI; the player made his first start for his club this season.
The 17-year old had already made a good impression with his performances off the bench, even scoring against Schalke in the season opener two months ago, so his first start for the club was a long time coming.
Musiala turned in another good shift, making some promising runs through the middle of the Bremen defence.
He was unable to cap the occasion with a goal; but on current evidence, the England U21 international could continue to feature regularly for the Bavarians this season.
