#3 Stormy first half aids Bielefeld's cause
A large part of Europe has been blighted by heavy winters in recent weeks, and the game between Bayern Munich and Arminia Bielefeld was no exception.
Extreme snowfall made playing conditions difficult, with several stops needed for the groundsmen to clear snow off the penalty area lines and center circle.
This aided the visitors as it hampered Bayern Munich's usual free-flowing pattern of play. Considering that Bielefeld played mostly on the counter, the surface was perfect for their gameplan.
This helped them race into a two-goal lead at the interval. However, the snow had started to clear towards the end of the first half.
By the start of the second half, the pitch was back to its luscious best, and it came as no surprise that Bayern Munich seized the initiative, with three goals scored in the space of 20 minutes.
#2 Alphonso Davies caps off a fine display with a well-taken goal for Bayern Munich
Alphonso Davies has been one of the revelations of the last year. He has since become a mainstay in Bayern Munich's starting lineup, displacing David Alaba from the left-back position.
Against Arminia, the Canada international showcased his abilities at both ends of the pitch. Davies is widely regarded as one of the fastest players in the world, and his pace was on full display in a stunning piece of play in the first half.
Ritsu Doan received a through pass midway through the first half and despite having several yards on Alphonso Davies, the 20-year-old still closed up the gap to prevent a goalscoring opportunity.
Davies was also on hand to score the equaliser, with a well-taken strike that the best strikers would be proud of.
In total, he made two key passes and had a game-high pass accuracy of 95.6% in what was another fine display.
#1 Robert Lewandowski gets his customary goal but should have had more
Robert Lewandowski is unarguably the most in-form striker in the world right now, and his goals have helped Bayern Munich attain new heights in the last year.
Having been stifled for most of the first half, the Poland international got on the scoresheet at the start of the second, marking his 25th league goal in just 20 Bundesliga games.
Several other chances fell in the way of the 32-year-old but he was uncharacteristically frivolous in front of goal. Two presentable opportunities were sent wide, while a last-gasp chance was cleared off the line.
Robert Lewandowski's goal proved crucial for Bayern Munich but on another day, a more clinical performance from their number nine would have seen them pick up all three points.
