Bayern Munich agreed to renew the contract of midfielder David Alaba on Monday. He was pursued by English football club Manchester City, which will be coached by the current coach of the German giants, Pep Guardiola, next season.
German newspaper Bild reported on Monday that the Catalan coach, despite his promise not to sign any players from Bayern for City, made secret attempts to take Alaba with him, reports Efe.
In response, a struggle took place between the club and the coach according to Bild, which was resolved last week with an agreement between Bayern and representatives of Alaba to renew his contract, which expires in 2018.
The new contract includes an increase in the annual salary of the Austrian international player, from the current 5 million euros ($5.5 million) to more than 10 million euros ($11 million).
