The Bundesliga record champions have repeatedly said that they would like to extend the contract of Jupp Heynckes, but it was up to the seasoned coach to decide if he wants to continue or retire; while club players in numerous interview’s in recent weeks have said that they would like to see their current coach extends his contract.
A final decision on next seasons coach at Bayern Munich is likely to be made by March, but it will be interesting to see if there is an alternative option which could see former Real Madrid & CD Tenerifé coach Heynckes remain at the club as a sort of mentor for Spaniard Pep Guardiola, who would be coming into a new environment with unknown language, culture and more.
But one should also not forget that last week it was reported that Pep Guardiola had decided to next season coach in England with Manchester his preferred destination though it wasn’t clear if it was United or City, though Chelsea was out of the running.
Only when Guardiola finally confirms, we will know which club he would go on to coach next season…
