Bayern Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer claims they are "not the favourites" against Italian football champions Juventus when the two sides face off in the second leg of the Champions League, while complimenting Gianluigi Buffon on his record.
The two sides face each other for a return leg this Wednesday, and they go into the game with a 2-2 result from the first game.
Bayern Munich played on Saturday against Werder Bremen and won 5-0, while Juventus edged past Sassuolo by a narrow 1-0, in a game which saw Buffon setting a new personal record for the longest unbeaten run in Serie A.
"Congratulations!" said Neuer to the Italian goalkeeper, as reported by football-italia.net. "I haven't seen the game against Sassuolo, but the result confirms Juve's quality.
"We're not the favourites, even though we managed not to lose in the first leg. It's going to be an open game, but don't think that our success against Werder was just a training practice.
"After two games without winning, we still have our usual self-confidence. Starting from tomorrow we'll focus on Juve. We're not playing for (outgoing coach Pep) Guardiola, we're playing for Bayern."
