Hello and Welcome to the daily Bayern Munich Transfer corner.
As we inch closer towards the end of the transfer window, the Bundesliga Champions are still in the market with several big-name players linked with a move to the Allianz Arena. On the other hand, some players are finding it hard to get regular game time and would seek a move elsewhere if the right offer comes in the way.
Hence without much ado, let's look at what's today's edition of transfer round up has in store for us.
#3 James Rodriguez could be sold to Spurs in exchange of Eriksen in the summer
Major news coming from the Los Blancos camp that they are planning to sign Danish playmaker, Christian Eriksen from Tottenham Hotspur in the summer in exchange of James Rodriguez who is currently on a two-year loan spell at Bayern Munich.
The arrival of Bale forced the Columbian to move to Germany on a loan deal where he flourished in his first season. However, things have been patchy in the current campaign with the manager, Niko Kovac warned James that he is playing for his future at the club. It prompted speculation of a move elsewhere in Europe with clubs like Arsenal, Juventus, and Napoli are all believed to be keen on the South American.
Bayern has an option to make his deal permanent at the end of the season, but latest reports suggest that he would return to Real Madrid. The Spanish giants are keen on Eriksen and would be happy to use Rodriguez to try and bring down his price. Eriksen has been one of the Premier League’s top performers for Spurs scoring 62 goals and providing 79 assists in the process. He would add some creativity to the Madrid side who are struggling this season.
#2 PSG and Bayern could not agree to terms for Renato Sanches
James Rodriguez is not the only player who is struggling at Bayern Munich this season. His fellow midfielder, Renato Sanches who had a loan spell at Swansea in the Premier League, is now wanting a move elsewhere to revive his career after failing to get sufficient game time at the home of the Bundesliga Champions.
According to reports, PSG is interested in signing the Portuguese playmaker but has been put away by the huge asking price of Bayern. PSG is set to lose one of their midfielder, Adrion Rabiot which makes Sanches a direct replacement for the Frenchman. However, with both the clubs reluctant to negotiate on their terms, a deal in January looks unlikely.
#1 Bayern set to battle Liverpool for Timo Werner
RB Leipzig manager, Ralf Rangnick said earlier that it would be challenging to hold Timo Werner if Bayern Munich is serious about signing the forward. According to recent reports, another top European club, Liverpool have now entered the race to sign the German International who is believed to be admired highly by Jurgen Klopp.
Liverpool has previously signed Nabi Keita from RB Leipzig, and a deal for Timo could not be ruled out either. Werner, who has 13 goals and two assists across twenty appearances this season could be a natural replacement for Frank Ribery at Bayern Munich. His versatility upfront would give a new dimension to the reigning Bundesliga Champions.
