Bale wants Real Madrid to prepare well for the season

Melbourne, July 25 Spanish football giants Real Madrid winger Gareth Bale believes beating a team like Manchester City "is a step in the right direction" but "not the most important thing right now".

"Beating a side like Manchester City is a step in the right direction, but it is not the most important thing right now. We have to keep working and training to prepare well for the season," Efe quoted Bale as saying after Real thrashed City 4-1 to win the International Champions Cup here.

Carvajal praises new signing Danilo

Right-back Daniel Carvajal, who started and played the first 45 minutes, praised his fellow Brazilian Danilo, with whom he will fight for the position throughout the season. Carvajal described him as "one of the best right-backs in the world".

"The team dynamic is really good. The side is constantly improving, we do what the coach asks us to and we leave games happy. We are all trying to work well to help the team," he said.

Denis Cheryshev ‘very grateful’ to Rafa Benitez
