Indian youth footballer Abneet Bharti is on the radar of record Belgian champions RSC Anderlecht sources close to the player have said.
Bharti, 16, who currently plays as a centre back for Real Valladolid's U19 side has been observed by scouts of the Belgian club in recent weeks who were "highly impressed" with his performance.
Under international transfer regulations, however, the Indian passport holder is not legally entitled to sign a contract before he turns 18.This indicates that the club can either offer him a non-contractual agreement which he has at Valladolid or wait till he turns 18 in 2016 and then finalise the deal.
When contacted, the former Balestier Khalsa player said, "It's always happy to find out about the interest and I'm sure with my hard work, this is just the beginning."
The 6 foot 1 inch defender recently tried out for Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt who were also pleased with his performance but were unable to sign him due to the limiting nature of international regulations regarding the transfer of minors.
A deal with the one time UEFA Cup winners would definitely be a step in the right direction for the talented youngster as the club have a track record of producing great talents like Belgian captain Vincent Kompany and Everton striker Romelu Lukaku.
