If Belgium coach Marc Wilmots is to be believed, then Chelsea will part ways with their long time goalkeeper Petr Cech before next season and replace him in goal with Thibaut Courtois according to the Metro.
Courtois was signed by Chelsea from Genk in 2011 but has been loaned out to La Liga side Atletico Madrid for three seasons where he has emerged as one of the best shot stoppers in the world.
The Belgium international had previously stated that he would return to Stamford Bridge only if he is made the first choice goalkeeper which could mean the end of Petr Cech’s time at the London club.
Wilmots’ words have only added fuel to the fire. “Yes, he will be returning to Chelsea this summer,” said the 45-year-old coach after his team’s victory over Russia.
“Will they sell Cech? Yes, probably.”
The final call is upto Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho.
