RM – Javi Garcia (Manchester City)

Another one of City’s failed transfers last term, Garcia was picked up from Benfica for a fee of £16 million by Roberto Mancini in the hope of finding the ideal foil for Yaya Toure in the Citizens’ midfield. However, the Spaniard was played in multiple positions through the course of the season to little success, and hardly featured for the team in the final few months.

A managerial change has done no good to his chances either, as Garcia has made limited appearances for the side to date, struggling to nail down that first team berth that was expected of him following his arrival.
