Bertrand: Moving on in this transfer window?

Ryan Bertrand is the subject of intense speculation linking him with a move away from Stamford Bridge. A whole host of clubs are believed to be interested in securing his services as it now looks like his future is away from Chelsea.

We all talk about players not being given enough game time or suffering due to the rotation policy we have had at this club for a while now, not many people have considered Ryan Bertrand and the fact that he has been overlooked in favour of Cesar Azpilicueta, it looks as though his future is no longer here.

In recent days, Bertrand has been linked with moves to Liverpool, Fulham, Everton and is also being mentioned as a potential makeweight in any deal for Luke Shaw of Southampton with Bertrand moving the other way!

When you think of Bertrand you look at a player with so much potential. The problem as always is his lack of chances in the first team but I guess when you have had to compete for the last couple of years against one of the world’s best left backs, it’s always going to be that way!

If anything, Roberto Di Matteo and Rafa Benitez gave Bertrand the football he needed including a start in the Champions League Final in Munich. Last season, it was reported that he had been given a target of 20 first team games and he completed that easily.

This season it’s been a different story. Bertrand has struggled with injury problems but has only been involved in a couple of games so far this season.

I guess you have to ask yourselves whether or not you personally believe that Bertrand is ready to step into the team ahead of Cole and Azpilicueta to do a job on a regular basis! If not, then there is only one outcome.

We all wait to hear news on Bertrand but I would expect him to move from the Bridge by the end of the window!

Carefree & KTBFFH!
