Worst Signings
#1 Fred (Manchester United)
Lost in Jose Mourinho’s continuous moaning about lack of transfer activity, was the arrival of Brazilian playmaker Fred. Supposedly wanted by Guardiola for his impressive display at Shakhtar, he should have added physicality to the Red Devils' midfield. However, he has flattered to deceive till now scoring just once and losing his place in the side completely. He must hope for a quick turnaround in his fortunes under new management.
#2 Jean Michael Seri (Fulham)
Almost signed by Barcelona last season before the deal hit a last-minute snag, the Ivorian midfielder has seen a swift decline in his fortunes. Even after a subdued 17-18 season, his signing was considered a coup and he was supposed to be newly promoted Fulham’s fulcrum. However, the Cottagers find themselves rooted to the bottom of EPL table and fighting for their survival with lacklustre performances from Seri.
#3 Jack Wilshere (West Ham)
After ending lifelong association with Arsenal where his career had stalled, This was supposed to be the season when Wilshere proved his worth in EPL. While there has never been any doubt about his talents, West Ham still took a huge risk given his injury-prone career. However, it has backfired spectacularly with Wilshere making just 5 appearances before being sidelined with an ankle injury which is expected to rule him out for the season now.
