At the beginning of the season, it looked like Bayern Munich's stranglehold in the Bundesliga was set to end as a newly rejuvenated Borussia Dortmund continued to churn out impressive and consistent displays. However, a loss of form in the mid-season has given the Bavarians the hopes of being the table toppers yet again.
In 5 games played in March, Bayern Munich won 4 and lost 1, closing down the gap between them and their rivals to just 2 points at the top of the table. However, the only loss in the month came against Liverpool that saw them exit the Champions League in the round of 16.
With no domestic cup and UCL games to play, the Bavarians can now solely concentrate on retaining the league title. They will face Dortmund in the first week of April; the tie could well decide which city the Bundesliga shield goes to.
