#1 Kylian Mbappe
Was there any doubt about this?
Kylian Mbappe started off this season on a high, by playing an instrumental role in France’s World Cup winning campaign.
The Frenchman scored in the final of the tournament too, and was a crucial cog in the national team’s setup. He has stepped up and taken an even more important role at PSG this season, often leading the forward line at times.
Technically, he has only gotten better, which is visible with his decision-making in the final third. With 26 goals in 23 Ligue 1 appearances, his goal-scoring spree has continued even in the absence of teammate Neymar.
Mbappe has also recorded six assists and delivers 1.7 key passes in the league on an average. He also completes 2.3 dribbles on an average, and has increasingly become a better counter-attacking threat with the pace and skills that he possesses.
With his increasingly improving outputs, should the 20-year-old look for a better, fresher challenge somewhere else? Only time will tell. For now, he undoubtedly is the best U-21 footballer in the world currently.
