Legacy
He was into girls, check. He was into alcohol, check. But was he a great player? The answer to that is OBVIOUSLY YES. He served Manchester United in a miraculous way. And, he is a Manchester United legend. When asked about his legacy, he opined:
"When I'll be gone people will forget all the rubbish and all that will be remembered will be football."
No matter what kind of person he was. Or how he lived his life. He was a gem of a footballer who did what made him happy.
And, what he did on the pitch made us happy. He was a great winger who was blessed with skill and pure and raw talent. He had a unique style of play and glided past defenders effortlessly.
Keeping all of that aside, he is one of the most popular figures of Manchester United.
Along with Sir Bobby Charlton and Dennis Law, he is a part of "The Great United Trinity".
Best died on 25 November 2005, aged 59. Tributes from all around the world were paid to him. With Best, went a great player, but his moments of brilliance will always be in our hearts and our minds.
