Setting up a backroom staff is not complete without an able scout to help acquire the best player for the club. Here, in Football Manager 2015 it’s a must to have an advice from a scout who gives a better detailed report about the player we like or about to sign for the team. Preferably a club can sign upto seven or nine scouts depending on the club’s level, and it is always a must to have a Chief Scout, who oversees that your criteria is met by others who are either scouting the Opposition team or roaming around the world searching for the next big thing in football.
Once you fill up all the posts in Scouts department, then comes the situation where you should decide whether you get to call the shots in which countries does the scouts want to search or you can always give that decision to Chief Scout or Director of Football. Instead, if you choose the former, then you should choose wise on which scouts goes where. Some of them are maybe best in scouting the opposition teams that you are going to face and some of them maybe best in roaming around the world searching for the players.

Note: This list is best recommened to use at the start of a new game, as the attributes may vary and there is also a possibility that a Scout can also be signed as a Chief Scout if offered more money!!
Chief Scout:
A Chief Scout, as said will help you with being the head of your Scouting department by delievering a second opinion on the player you wish to sign and by giving you the final scout report of great prospects or wonderkids or the players who are about to become free agents in the game. Scouts :
As a manager after appointing the Scouts it’s your duty to broaden the club’s knowledge in the footballing countries around the world by sending them to search for the next big player from that country. Not always every Scout can do this, because some of them maybe good at scouting next opposition teams and not in roaming around the world. To choose the best scout before sending them for errands is to choose wisely.
The attributes like Adaptability or Determination will usually be high for the scouts who are capable in Roaming around the world to search for players. And if a Scout has high attributes for Tactical Knowledge then he can be best deployed for bringing a detailed report about the Next Opposition teams.
There is also another category, where the Scouts are not good at roaming around the world or detailing about the opposition team but are really good at giving you an accurate scout reports for a specified player. These Scouts are mostly targeted by lower league clubs to become their Chief Scouts.

As you progress in your career, you can certainly see some of these Scouts might retire at a certain point or you might fire them or they might consider offer from other clubs, in that situation before hiring a new Scout, try to filter the them by their attributes for Adaptability, Determination and Tactical Knowledge.
