Defensive Midfielder: Arturo Vidal (30)
Vidal has performed well in the last few seasons with Bayern Munich and Chile. The Chiliean is a complete midfielder, known for his marking, positional sense, tackling and anticipation - attributes which allow him to be effective at intercepting passes, winning back possession, and subsequently starting an attack.
He has earned over 90 caps for the Chile national team since his debut in 2007, helping his nation to victory at the 2015 Copa America and the Copa America Centenario a year later.
A versatile and hard working player, Vidal, is capable of assisting his teammates in both defence and attack.
Central Midfielder: Luka Modric (32)
Named the worst La Liga signing in 2012, Modric, has certainly proved everyone wrong and has been a bargain for Real Madrid.
The little magician has been named the Croatian Footballer of the Year a record six times. In 2015, he became the first Croatian player ever to be included in the FIFA World XI in which he was included once again in 2016, as well in the UEFA Team of the Year in 2016.
The Croatian is noted for his ability to pass the ball accurately across long or short distances, even with the outside of his boot, as well as his ball control, first touch, positional play, and his ability to retain possession.
Central Midfielder: Andres Iniesta (33)
A La Masia product, Andres Iniesta has been entertaining the football world since 2005 and shows no signs of slowing down. El Cerebro has savoured a trophy-laden career winning 29 trophies and is the most decorated Spanish player of all time.
His excellent dribbling and accurate passing along with other traits such as his vision and decision-making make him one of the best midfielders to ever play the game.
Iniesta is a playmaker who relies on exceptional creative passing, intuition and inventiveness to control the midfield and dictate the ebb and flow of play. His understanding of the game is better than most and he always know where his teammates are.
