Manipur XI will take on a FPAI All-Star XI in Imphal on June 30, 2013. The match is being organised to promote football in the north-east region where many current Indian footballers come from.
The Manipur XI is set to feature Gouramangi Moirangthem Singh, P. Renedy Singh, Sushil Kumar Singh, Thokchom Naoba Singh, Chitrasen Singh and many others top level players.
Meanwhile, the FPAI XI will feature ex-India captain Baichung Bhutia, Syed Rahim Nabi, Subhasish Roy Chowdhury, Dharmaraj Ravanan, Subrata Pal, Nirmal Chetri, Sanju Pradhan and many others. The FPAI XI is hoping to add players from the western states of Goa and Maharashtra to their squad and it would be the first time that players like Steven Benedic Dias, Samir Naik, Climax Lawrence, Clifford Miranda might play in Imphal.
