Inspite of their triumph in the recent Nehru Cup 2012, team India is still on 169th place in the FIFA Rankings, as this tournament was not an official FIFA tournament. As a result many people have suggested India should play some FIFA international friendly matches against different countries to improve its ranking. It seems like the governing body All India Football Federation (AIFF) also wants Indian guns to improve their ranking.
It has been reported that team India will play two international friendly matches in the month of October and November. The first match is going to held on October 16th against 161st ranked Singapore. The next one will be held on November 14th. Though who will be the opponent of the Blue Tigers in the second match is not yet decided, Thailand and Vietnam have showed their intention to play against India. So it can be said that if nothing goes wrong, then we could see any of these two teams take the field against India.
The venues of these two matches are yet to be decided.
