BookASmile supports South United Sports Foundation’s Football Programs

Mumbai, January 31, 2019: South United Sports Foundation has received generous support from BookASmile, the charity initiative of BookMyShow, enabling them to fund grassroot football training programs in the city. Starting February 2019, the program will enrol over 50 beneficiaries in two programs under the aegis of SUSF.

Speaking about the importance of partners such as BookASmile, Mr. Sharan Parikh, Trustee - South United Sports Foundation said, “We’re always on the lookout for collaborators who relate to our vision of developing football talent and creating opportunities for employment in the sports industry. In BookASmile, I think we have found an apt partner to work with, who understands our goals and is ready to support us in our journey. We’re grateful to them for their support and hope that this is the start of a long-term partnership.”

The support received from BookASmile, will be primarily routed towards two ongoing programs – the Dharavi Community Football Program and the Development Team Football Program. The Dharavi Community Football Program is directed towards under-privileged children aged between 5 – 21 years. It is designed to enhance the children’s health and well-being through sport while also enabling them to consider careers as athletes or sport professionals. The support received from BookASmile, will empower SUSF to care for 30 beneficiaries in this program over a year.

The year-long association also supports 22 promising individuals, largely identified through the Dharavi Community Football Program. The selected individuals will participate in The Development Team Football Program geared towards empowering them to play football professionally. The program is designed to provide competitive playing time to talented youngsters who are selected.

South United Sports Foundation is constantly looking to create opportunities for individuals to further their lives and careers through sports and this partnership with BookASmile is certainly a great step in that direction.
