German Bundesliga champions Borussia Dortmund have extended the contract of two more of their key players in Serbian centre-back Neven Subotic until June 2016 and German defensive midfielder Sven Bender even a year longer until June 2017.

“We are delighted to have been able to tie down another two key members of our title-winning team to a long-term contract,” said BVB Director of Sportsr Michael Zorc at Borussia Dortmund’s winter training camp in La Manga, Spain, on Sunday afternoon.

For Dortmund with Subotic and Bender joining team mates Mario Götze, Mats Hummels, Jakub Blaszczykowski, Mitch Langerak and Lukasz Piszczek in extending their contracts with BVB it gives the double Bundesliga champions a chance to build on their success in recent years.

The 24-year-old Subotic, who joined Dortmund from FSV Mainz 05 in 2008, told the club’s website, “I’m very happy to remain a part of this team and I hope that we will find another couple of occasions to celebrate together.”

“I’m very happy that the lads want to carry along the path we are going,” said Dortmund coach Jürgen Klopp on the contract extensions of Neven Subotic and Sven Bender.
