Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko and Stoke City goalkeeper Asmir Begovic are part of Bosnia-Herzegovina’s 24 man provisional World Cup squad. Coach Safet Susic announced his squad on May 6 with the final 23-man squad to be announced by June 2.
This will be Bosnia’s debut in a major international tournament after separating from Yugoslavia and joining FIFA in 1996. Susic believes his squad can advance past the group stage in Brazil saying “We must have a goal and that is to try to go through to the second round, to qualify for the round of 16.”
Bosnia are in Group F with South American giants Argentina, African Cup of Nations winners Nigeria and Iran. They begin their campaign on June 15 against Argentina.
