Rio de Janeiro, Feb 3 (IANS):
Brazil internationals Fred and Jean were both on target as Fluminense moved to the top of the Campeonato Carioca’s Group B with a 3-0 victory over Quissama.
Jean opened the scoring in Macae with a curling free-kick into the top corner before Wagner’s first-time finish and a Fred penalty Saturday gave the reigning Brazilian top-flight champions their third victory from five games, reports Xinhua.
Fred and Jean will travel to London Sunday to join the rest of Luiz Felipe Scolari’s Brazil squad ahead of Wednesday’s international friendly against England at Wembley Stadium.
“It has been an amazing week. It’s a great feeling to have scored a goal and now I want to do the best I can for the national team,” said Jean.
Jean, who is yet to make his international debut, was drafted into Scolari’s squad Friday to replace injured Lazio midfielder Hernanes.
