A dog abruptly stopped proceedings in one of the matches played in the Brazilian League cup last weekend. This was the second instance recently when a dog interrupted the play in a football match. Not too long ago, a match in Argentina also had to be stopped for a while due to a dog invading the pitch.
However, as compared to that incident, the one in Brazil turned to out to be a lot livelier one. Sao Paulo-RS player Eduardo Mandai took up the job of taking the dog out of the playing field with his side trailing 2-1 versus Farroupilha.
The dog, though, didn't seem too happy with the manner in which he was taken away from the park and bit Mandai while being carried off. The player responded by slapping the dog, before dropping him outside the field. Sao Paulo eventually won the game with Mandai scoring the winner. He later called it “bite of luck."
The footballer also posted a photo of him, carrying the dog.
Here’s a video of the incident.
