Sao Paulo, Nov 29 (IANS) Rogerio Ceni, Brazilian club Sao Paulo's record goal-scoring goalkeeper, has shelved his plans of retirement despite his 42nd birthday approaching in January.
Ceni played 63 of Sao Paulo's 67 games this season and scored 10 goals, taking his career total to 123 since his debut in 1993, reported Xinhua. In October, he racked up a world record 590th victory for his club, beating the old mark set by Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs.
The goalkeeper has spent most of his career with Sao Paulo, having won three Brazilian League titles and two Copa Libertadores with them. He is also recognized as the highest scoring goalkeeper of all-time, and has represented Brazil at two World Cups.
