Rio de Janeiro – Brazilian club Internacional has expressed its interest in signing Villarreal forward Nilmar.
Nilmar’s agent Orlando da Hora revealed Tuesday that Internacional was among a long list of clubs chasing the 27-year-old’s signature.
The former Brazil striker looks set to leave Villarreal after the club was last weekend relegated to Spain’s second division.
“We’ve had interest from a club from Spain, one from France, three Italians and one English team,” Da Hora was quoted as saying by Xinhua.
“Internacional called and I asked them if they didn’t already have enough strikers. The president Giovanni Luigi said, “No, we want him.”
Nilmar played 85 matches and scored 26 goals in three seasons with Villarreal.
