Following an appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport, Chelsea have succeeded in reducing their two-window transfer ban by half. This means that the Blues will be able to sign new players in the upcoming January transfer window.
Chelsea allowed to spend in January
Frank Lampard has adapted superbly well since taking charge of his former club and Chelsea are now fourth in the Premier league table standings. The departure of Eden Hazard in the summer doesn't seem to have significantly affected the squad and Lampard has proven capable of making the best out of the players that he has.
The reduction of the transfer ban will help Chelsea who are looking to start spending at once. Prior to the appeal, the Blues had already served their one window transfer ban in the summer. The 41-year-old manager has placed plenty of trust on youngsters such as Tammy Abraham, Mason Mount and Christian Pulisic thus far this season. They have repaid his trust and performed excellently too.
Amid the competition for top four with the likes of Manchester City and Leicester City, this announcement comes timely for the Blues and will boost their efforts to finish on a high note in the Premier League this season.
