Manchester United have confirmed that midfielder Shinji Kagawa will be sidelined three to four weeks with a knee injury.
The 23-yr old Japanese sensation was substituted at the start of the second half against Braga on Tuesday, and will miss both clashes against Chelsea.
“It’s a knee injury similar to the one Ashley Young had,” revealed Sir Alex Ferguson. “I think playing on with the injury did not help the situation. It’s disappointing for him.”
United bought the Japan international for £17 million earlier this summer from German champions Borussia Dortmund, with whom he won back-to-back Bundesliga titles.
